Disney’s Monsters University Movie Premiere Review!

So recently I just went to my first movie premiere with my step daughter and sister in law. What better way to start my movie reviewing experience then to start with Monsters University! Not only were the kiddos excited to see this movie, but I was too! Monsters University is a movie that is great for the kids, but as adults we can also enjoy it as well!

The movie is a prequel to the Monsters Inc. movie that plots around how Mike and Sulley met in Monsters University college. At first I thought I knew most of what the movie was about from trailers, but this movie has some great twists!(*SPOILER ALERT*) I would have never guessed that Mike and Sulley were arch enemies at first!

The movie goes on to show how Sulley and Mike struggle through getting through Scare School. Not only do they need to come together and put aside their differences for their own sake, but for the OK sorority’s sake as well! If you really pay attention during the movie, you will find some of the original monsters that were in Monsters Inc. I noticed quite a few, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for them!

My favorite attribute from the movie was how well the story makers really tell each of the individual monster’s story. We get to see the background of Sulley and Mike, but we also get to see deeper characteristics of some of the other monsters in the movie such as “Squishy”, Terri and Terry, and even why Randy has so much hatred towards Mike and Sulley in the original Monsters Inc.

Through out the movie you also see some amazing animation, like all Pixar and Disney films. The quality of the story along with the amazing animation really separates the Disney films from any other competitors!

At the end of the movie, my step daughter and sister in law got these amazing movie posters and were able to take pictures for there very own Monsters University ID card! My step daughter was a bit short, so we had to help her out a bit, but aren’t they adorable little monsters!
